About us
SAMnet was launched on 19 November 2019, International Men’s Day. SAVF FAMNET already coordinated Fathers’ Network – a network for organisations working in the fatherhood field. The growing awareness of the need for mentorship of people growing up without their fathers, led to this network of organisations involved in mentorship, SAMnet (South African Mentorship Network).
The value of mentorship is the creation of a meaningful relationship through which healing, guidance, life skills transfer, modelling and teaching of positive masculinity and fatherhood skills training take place.
Through this network, organisations are strengthened and information is shared widely. Information about all the member organisations and their activities, is available here. SAMnet general meeting take place four times per year and are events to share information and network with each other
